The word ‘haat’ in Hindi, our national language translates to market, where various commodities and handicrafts are sold in one common chosen venue or location for a set number of days. The location or venue of this market keeps changing from one village or town to another. Artisans, craftsmen, manufacturers and traders come together from near and distant villages, towns and cities to a common market place to sell their goods.
